Heatactivated arch wire is ideal choice in early treatment phase. Due to its wide actual 
deformation
 range and soft, lasting force, so it is suitable to be used as initial arch wire. In theory, 
it can let serious dislocation teeth within bracket go back to original place completely. Both 
Round wire and rectangular wire can be used as original arch Wires.
 
Advantages:
 1. Patients can feel less pain: It derives from increasing force value and final light force. 
 Controlled heat-activity can prevent force value from increasing suddenly when patients drink hot
  drink or eat hot food. Patients can relieve excessive force value by drinking cold water.
 2. Reduce the situation of bracket dropoffand ceramic bracket break: this is because the force 
  is a kind of light force which can increase gradually. This kind of arch wire is ideal to 
 ceramic bracket. Arch wire can keep its Martensite state under low temperature condition, which 
   is helpful to reduce initial force value and easy to keep arch wire.
  3. Reduce arch wire fracture times: because it is softer compared with Austenitic state arch 
   wire, it is not easy to break after getting force.
 
 
 4. Reduce working time at chair: Due to its wide deformation rage, it can reduce adjustment 
   times and arch wire replacement times.
 
 5. Shorten treatment time: the preliminary research indicates that torque control and use light,
 sustaining force in early period can shorten total treatment time. Using rectangular wire on roth
    bracket in early period can make teeth directly movie to ideal position.
 
 Disadvantages:
              It can not effectively maintain the arch form, and it is better not to use for closing gap. 
Because the force of O-ringS and screw spring can make arch wire deform and make tooth incline. In 
addition, heat-activated nickel titanium wire can shorten working time, but the time for moving tooth 
is long and doctors should wait patiently until arch wire fully effected.
